Kudos to anyone who still enjoys the show, this isn't meant to cut anyone down who still watches and enjoys the show. I'll watch that episode and raise a glass. The only real thing about this season is going to be the episode when they pay tribute to Nick. ![]() No wonder Sean bailed on the show, he seemed the least interested in drama. If this was the first of 20 episodes, I can't imagine how they milk this farce for 19 more episodes. I've tried to block most of it out, it was so painful. Does the crew even know where they are on the Bering Sea and what's going on between the captains? They hardly ever interview the crew anymore anyway! Do they have team meetings every morning to go over strategy? I doubt it. The captain finally grows some balls and says on the howler "we're not listening to anyone, we're doing it our own way." Then they show the crew with these sinister looks on their faces like they're writing a bad cheque. Saving that juicy cliffhanger for a future episode I guess. And then supposedly Junior didn't even use the info he had to decide where to fish? He went along with the group plan to take a section of ground to cover? That doesn't add up at all. The only thing real about this segment is when Keith calls it a floppy disk. These guys have been doing this for decades and they have piles of notebooks of data to go back to. Junior and his flash drive of secret data. Much like Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand did when Scotty went behind their backs to rent out their quota. If a captain really had this kind of subversion from someone on the boat the captain would get rid of them. "I'll give 3 whistles then we'll go up 3 channels." Then Sig says "which channel are you on, have you been talking to Jake?!" Mandy says "I need to make my own way out here." OMG. ![]() This is so fake I don't think we even need to debate it. Mandy and Sig butting heads over giving Jake Anderson information. Cause I'm sure he's never seen anyone else's pots while fishing. Sig sees Saga pots near his gear and flips out. Do they really have time for these kinds of games? And the crew wears night vision goggles to see what the CM is doing. The Time Bandit going off the radar and sneaking up on the Cornelia. Now he just rides shotgun on the Time Bandit for fun? Why would Johnathan offer the CM quota just for Josh to ride shotgun? A few seasons ago Keith asked Josh to work on the Wizard when Keith needed some time off and Josh turned it down. What? Why does Johnathan need a relief skipper any more than Casey does? I don't understand the motivation from either of them. Josh Harris going to work on the Time Bandit. They do this every year, why drag it out again? I especially love that awkward 5 second pause when they're sitting on the radio waiting to hear from the other captain, who doesn't want to tell him how he's doing. The captains all work together and then withhold information as they see fit. How many times last season did they play the "typical Russian song"? Last year all the drama was vs Russia and now it's "band together to save the fishery". What exactly are they saving it from? Because the government didn't do any prospecting they might shut down the fishery for a year? I don't follow. The captains working together to "save the fishery." They meet around a burning barrel to hash out their plans. Sig going to visit Johnathan Hillstrand at his home to ask him to come back to "save the fishery." I'm sure he was so surprised when Sig showed up at his house with the camera crew. The drama they have introduced this year makes me cringe every few minutes. I've deleted my PVR scheduled recordings. I just finished watching episode 1 of this season. This rant isn't meant to cut anyone down who still watches and enjoys the show. ![]() First off, kudos to anyone who still enjoys the show.
